Simeon Brandner

Spin motion is an iPhone application that allows you to create and share stop-motions.
On shared animations one can participate in the realization by adding an image at the end. It will create two types of animations: animations made ​​by a person or exquisite corpse.

The application is divided into three parts:

The creation is made frame by frame. For each picture taken, a main line that crosses the screen trough it’s middle
is a guide to align something on it. This line turns a few degrees after each shot to make a complete revolution.

The visualization is made by turning the iPhone, making the animation playing forward or backward. The baseline
created by using the guide remains horizontal when the screen rotates.

Modifying stop-motions allows you to rework animations and to share them.

Workshop at ECAL, with Jürg Lehni and Jonathan Pukey. Creation of Scriptographer tools that create grid. We made three tools, the first create a square based grid where one can change the amount of rectangles and the space between them. The second tool is similar to the first exept that one can change the number of edges (from a triangle to a circle). The last tool is a drawing tool to modify the grid, by filling, rotating or changing the strokes.

Workshop at ECAL, with Stuart Smith. We had to create a system of input and output. We made two applications who communicate together. The first reads QrCodes, each black square plays a different sound, the second one is a snake that moves left or right depending if the sound is high or low. The snake draw a black path that the first application can read and this way create a infinite loop.

Workshop at ECAL with Peter Lang (Pe Lang). The idea was to create machines.
We had different compounds at our disposal.
I made a machine with magnetic powder and two big turning magnets to create a link
between the bottom and the top part.

Workshop at ECAL with Andreas Gysin. Mapping race game was the topic of this workshop.
My Project was to create a labyrinth with square based component. These component can be assembled differently and the the race game starts. The programme detects the path and the cars fall down when going out of the path.

Workshop at ECAL, with Thomas Traum. The concept was to create a ball that falls from the top of the screen and goes out at the bottom. Each student made one animation and then on a website all the animations played one after the other to create a long path of a ball that falls down.
My animation is a ball that falls down and bounce against other balls, each ball that is touched disappear so that the main ball dig a path to the bottom.

Workshop at ECAL where we used very simple instruction gave by a program me we made, to make us draw something. By projecting 3 different colored lines and draw along these lines with different wight pen to create a picture.
